John F. Kennedy International Airport
Because of the significant number of nonstop flights available on major international carriers, JFK is unquestionably the most convenient way to travel from New York to worldwide locations.
JFK is the closest airport if you’re staying in eastern Queens or lower Brooklyn (anything below Williamsburg, actually). Lounges, stores, and restaurant options make the John F. Kennedy International Airport a popular choice.
JetBlue has its headquarters at JFK. The airline has taken over Terminal 5 and transformed it into a blue haven. The airport is undergoing a $13 billion renovation that will add two new international terminals by 2025.
Newark Liberty International Airport
There are over 30 airlines that operate flights to and from Newark (EWR), including more than a dozen foreign carriers. United considers the airport to be a key hub, and the airline uses Terminal C in Newark to operate all flights in and out of the city.
You can easily reach Newark if you are staying on the west side of Manhattan, but it will be expensive and time-consuming if you are commuting between Queens or Brooklyn.
LaGuardia Airport
Domestic travelers frequently use LaGuardia (LGA) since flights are available from American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, United, Southwest, and other airlines.
The airport is undergoing repairs as a result of years of criticism for its poor facilities. Terminal B at LaGuardia is nearing the completion of a spectacular remodel, and work is underway on Terminal C, which will serve as the central hub for all Delta flights.
LaGuardia Airport is the nearest choice for people staying in northern Brooklyn or Upper and Midtown Manhattan. Depending on traffic and your location, you should be able to get to the airport in less than 30 minutes by car.
